Discover it during your visit to the Caen Memorial Museum!

June 6, 1944 – The Battle of Normandy commences. Comprised of archive footage, this film recounts the battle in full, from the landings up to the liberation of Le Havre. General de Gaulle announced that “The supreme battle has begun”. It would last more than 100 days. This long and savage battle changed the course of world history and was the key to the liberation of France and Western Europe. We dedicate this film to the 20,000 civilians and 90,000 soldiers killed on Norman soil, as well as to all those who fought for peace.
